My little tip for this week has to do with adding apps and extensions to your Chrome browser! Before you say, "That's not something I'm interested in!" Just keep reading...
Chrome Apps & Extensions...So what does that mean? Applications allow you to create things and extensions add functionality to your browser. There are TONS of amazing apps & extensions that you can use in your classroom, but that's not what What the Tech is supposed to be about!!
So I'm going to share with you possibly my favorite Chrome Extension that serves absolutely no purpose- but it's FUN to use! And that's... Bitmoji! I feel like everyone has heard of Bitmojis by now, but just in case... a Bitmoji is a fun little cartoon character that you create to look like yourself! Then you can use your character to reply to text messages (iphone or andriod) & with this Chrome Extension, you will be able to use these fun little characters in your email, google docs, word, etc on your computer!
All you have to do is go here and click the blue "Add to Chrome" button. This will put a little Bitmoji icon right next to your search bar.
When you click on it, you will be asked to make an account or login to your existing account! And then you can start enjoying the awesomeness that is Bitmoji on your computer!
So like I said, Extensions and Applications CAN be educational! Here's a little presentation put together by another DLC. She does a great job of explaining the difference and sharing a few that you might enjoy in your classroom.
